Job brief
Verde Energy Efficiency Experts are seeking an experienced and skilled HVAC Technician to join
our team. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader, capable of managing complex rooftop
projects and possessing expert-level knowledge of HVAC maintenance and installation. This
position has zero direct reports and reports directly to our Controller.
Responsibilities
● Project Leadership: Confidently lead Roof Top HVAC replacement projects from start to
finish, including managing crane communication, directing recycling and crane crews on the
job site, and overseeing all electrical and gas connection work.
● Refrigeration Expertise: Possess the ability to braze refrigeration lines and perform thorough
leak checks on all refrigeration line installations.
● Equipment Start-up: Capable of starting up a large variety of rooftop equipment
independently, or with minimal technical support assistance when necessary.
● Technical Communication: Experienced in effectively communicating with and
problem-solving alongside technical support teams from various manufacturers.
● Specialized Component Knowledge: Experienced with the installation and ongoing
maintenance of economizers and actuators on diverse rooftop equipment.
● Mentorship and Training: Willing and able to train and mentor other team members on
HVAC equipment and best practices, both in-person and remotely via video calls.
● Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
● Extensive commercial HVAC experience with rooftop units, heat pumps and advanced thermostat installations
● Proficient in troubleshooting both new and existing HVAC systems
● Ability to build partnerships across teams
● Skilled problem solver
● Demonstrated ability to mentor and train fellow employees
● Help to streamline and improve current project procedures
Requirements
● Experience with rooftop installations
● HVAC Troubleshooting ability
● Thermostat installations competency
● Comfortable using multiple programs via smart phone or computer
● Able to generate detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects
● Willingness to learn new products/tools
● Travel obligations include visiting each project location as necessary
● Utilize appropriate PPE in the workplace
● Expected work hours: 8 hrs per day, 5 days a week, as early as 6 am
● Expected work locations: rooftops and indoors
● Expected working conditions: able to work in environment that has hot/cold temps, loud
noises, dust (ear plugs/masks provided), humid, wet
● Must lift 50+ lbs frequently, work indoors and outdoors year-round, standing, walking,
bending, lifting, climbing ladders, reaching overhead, and operate at various heights
Benefits
Wage rate: $40-$65 per hour, depending on experience. Full-time or Part-time, salary
compensable with number of hours worked, FLSA non-exempt, overtime and prevailing wage

Customer Experience Specialist

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly communicative, organized, and proactive Customer Experience Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all customer service items. You’ll be the warm, capable voice on the other end of the line, acting as our clients’ ultimate ally while collaborating with our internal team to ensure seamless project delivery and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Advocacy & Call Management
Act as the primary point of contact for incoming customer calls and inquiries.
Listen actively to understand client issues, gather details, and evaluate complex or technical situations.
Diligently route and transfer customer needs to the correct internal team or specialist.
Escalate urgent or sensitive issues effectively to ensure prompt resolution.
Accountability & Project Follow-Through
Follow up continuously with internal teams to track open items and ensure full resolution.
Send clear, professional, and timely update emails to customers as projects reach completion.
Manage scheduling and logistics for site visits, facilitating seamless coordination between installers, subcontractors, and our clients.
Conduct post-project follow-ups to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.
Relationship Building & Business Enhancement
Serve as an empathetic advocate for the client while remaining a collaborative team player internally.
Request client referrals, gather feedback/testimonials, and collect quotes.
Identify opportunities to introduce existing clients to additional services to enhance their overall experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
Location: Must be able to work in our Chicago office at least 2 days per week.
Experience: 1+ years in customer service, account management, or client success.
Technical Aptitude: Experience handling calls in a technical or trade environment (HVAC, field service, construction, or similar industries) is a bonus
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, reassuring client updates.
Work Style: Highly organized, proactive, persistent with follow-ups, and empathetic.
Adaptability: Demonstrates a proactive willingness to pivot and learn new workflows, and data management systems.
